DRAFT COMPLETE!

Well, the draft is complete, and boy am I angry with myself! I suck!

Oh well!

Anyway, we didn't really get to say good-night since it kind of just kicked us out. I just wanted to say that I thought that the draft was fun and everyone played the game very well!

Now the real game begins.

I'll check out the line-ups over the next few weeks and give my analysis. In the meantime, I'll let you know what I think of my team...

BLAHHHHHHHHHH!

Draft Complete!

cheers...DaBubbas

DRAFT TONIGHT AT 8PM!

Just a reminder to all that the draft is TONIGHT at 8pm. Be sure to log in at least 15 minutes prior because I think their is a plug-in that needs to be installed.

For those in the Auto-draft, be sure to adjust your rankings no later than 45 minutes prior to the draft (7:15pm).

Also, one final change made...I went back to the single defensive player rather than a back and a lineman. This is my compromise and since I am the commissioner, whatever I say, goes!

Fort those in the draft...SEE Ya tonight!

(I'll be giving everyone a schooling on how to draft properly!)

Fastasy Draft Date Cometh!

Well, it was as simple as just changing the settings! For some reason, when I set up the league, it really constrained me on what times I was allowed to do. Now, it seemed to have no problem! SO THE LIVE DRAFT IS ON!!

Right now I have it set for this Sunday at 8pm. We can go earlier, whatever! And remember, you do not need to take part in the live draft. If you choose, you can let the computer auto-select for you in the draft. I will send out more instructions soon. Please let me know what you think of the time...those who are partaking in the live portion, that is...

Also, we are still missing two teams! If you are having problems logging on and setting up your account, please send me an email!

The Draft and the Defense

I have received some concerns about both the draft and the defense.

The Draft:

I see a lot of interest in a live-draft. (If you are not intested in the live-draft, it really does not matter since you can set your draft still on auto-picking). Let me look a little bit deeper in Yahoo to see if I can get any better times for a draft. To get full access to all times, they want a league payment of $129.00 (which I am not prepared to pay at this time). Let me look into it a bit more. Are people willing to do the live draft if it is M-F from 10am-2pm?

Defensive Players:

Here is my take on it. If people still hate, I can remove them! First, I thought that having one defensive player (in addition to a defensive team) added quite a cool dynamic to the game. Some games were actually being decided by this defensive player. Also, there were a lot of players to choose from, which allowed anyone to get someone good at any time.

The only thing that bothered me about it was trying to choose between the different types of defenseman: Do you choose a secondary person to get the INT's and TDs or choose the lineman with all of the sacks and tackles? I thought splitting them up would allow us to choose one little DB and one big lineman.

Comments welcome...DaBubbas

Let the Games Begin! New Fantasy Rules for '06

OK!!

I've done it! The invitations are now out! Remember, you need to register with Yahoo to start out, but just follow the links and directions of the email.

A few things:

Some people expressed some interest in a live draft. Yahoo is a bit of a pain in the ass and will only allow live drafts for free members between 10am-2pm M-F. Hmmm...that is a bit of a tough time. We may have to live with an Auto-Draft, but let me know what everyone thinks (I can do it, but it has to be next Friday only)

Some Changes:

1) We have 10 teams this year! Yea! Welcome new members!

2) Because of 10 teams, I have elected to extend the playoffs to 3 weeks, 6 teams (I've added a few wild cards!)

3) The pot! Yes! We are playing for something this year. We've all put in $10, so the deal is the winner will get $75 and second place will get $25.

4) A few player option changes:

Instead of 3 WR's and 2 RB's, I have changed it to 2 WR's, 2 RB's and 1 WR or RB. I liked the flexibility

Also, on defense, instead of 1 defensive player, I have elected to have 1 defensive lineman and 1 defensive back. The team defense is still there.

5) A few scoring bonuses!

On top of the normal points, I am offering bonuses for exceptional games!

QB: 300yds = 5 bonus points
RB: 120yds = 5 bonus points
WR: 150yds = 5 bonus points

6) One other point change: Defensive interceptions go from 2 to 4 points.

Once everyone is signed up with their team names and settings, we can talk about the draft a little bit more.

Leave me a comment or post if you have further questions or suggestions!

Welcome to the California Dreamin' Fantasy Football Blog

Welcome League Members (and Visitors)!

To make things a little bit easy this year, I decided to make the weekly assessment and news for our fantasy football league into a blog. This way, it will be easy to find and make comments fairly easily, too. Plus, it is a lot cooler than just sending an email every week. (And this way, anyone can see what a bunch of amateurs we really are at fantasy football league. To hide identities, let stick with our team names only in the blog. I will also set it up so that every updated blog will sent you an email update. Please make sure that my emails don't fall into your trash bin. Anyway, I am just finishing up the final roster of the league participants. Also, I plan to have a list of our rules fairly shortly. Stay tuned. In the meantime, I'm excited about another Fantasy Football league year (and to school you all at how this game SHOULD be played...)

Cheers...DaBubbas
